Chinese chauvinism, racist eugenics and a porn star wannabe
One issue that I have always found particularly disturbing in Malaysia is how Chinese-based (or Chinese-dominated) political parties, Chinese education pressure groups and pretty much anyone else apart from these groups that strongly advocate for “Chinese rights” in general almost always manage to get away with labelling anyone else who disagree with them “racists” or “anti-Chinese”. However, these very same people do not realise that with their one finger pointing at others, there are four fingers pointing back at them in return. Case in point is on the issue of single stream education, which has evoked a huge amount of racist sentiment among the groups previously mentioned and which has remained a contentious issue for decades until today.

“Seksualiti Merdeka” is not freedom of sexuality
The nation was abuzz several months ago with the provocative attempts of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) activists in holding a festival celebrating their deviance of homosexuality via a programme called “Sexualiti Merdeka” (Freedom of Sexuality). Scheduled to be held at The Annexe in Kuala Lumpur on November 11th, the event was eventually cancelled by the organisers after the police announced a blanket ban on any activity promoting or related to the event, as it will be held without a permit. This caused an outcry from the organisers and their supporters, claiming that the event is not an attempt of promoting homosexuality among the masses.
